Housecall Pro: English, unless you rewrite it
The app switches to Spanish when the phone’s language is set to Spanish, on an iPhone or on Android 13 and newer. That is for you and your techs, and not all of it changes.
Statuses and alerts stay in English, and so do line items, job descriptions and price book entries that were typed in English. For customers, the same help page is plain: “your customer notifications will still be sent in English and messages will still be sent in the language you compose them in.”

The second half of that sentence is where Spanish gets in. Once your Housecall Pro texting number is set up, you can rewrite the three job texts (scheduled, on my way and finished) under Settings > Notifications > Customer.
Housecall Pro’s page on those texts warns that “these messages will go to every customer and cannot be edited from job to job.” Write them in Spanish, and your English-speaking customers get Spanish too.
Some customer messages cannot be rewritten at all. Housecall Pro’s page listing every email and text, last updated in January, marks the canceled-job message and the customer’s payment receipt “Customizable: No”. For a scheduled job it says “Only SMS”, so the email that goes out with the text stays as Housecall Pro wrote it.
Review requests go out on their own once a job is marked finished, if the Reviews app is on. By default Housecall Pro writes each one from the job’s details, and that version is “English only for now.” The other choice, Custom, is “one message you write, sent to every customer.”
Jobber: Spanish for your team, one template for your clients
On the web, anyone on your team can switch: select the avatar at the top right of any page, then Language, then Español. Jobber calls it “a per-user setting”.
It changes that person’s account and nobody else’s. On the phone app, Spanish turns on by itself for non-admin users whose phone is set to Spanish. Admins get the app in English.

The setting reaches the team’s side of Jobber: team scheduling notifications, Jobber’s own messages and anything your team typed in Spanish. “Any text added by you or your team in English will stay in English.”
What clients get comes from the templates under Settings > Emails and Text Messages Settings. “The template is what sets the default message for all communications of that type.” You can edit an email before it goes. A single text you cannot: “To customize a text message, the template will need to be updated.”
The same page makes one exception: the message on a new invoice, by text or email, can be edited invoice by invoice before you send it. Below your words Jobber adds the payment link, in a section that “can’t be edited.” Neither Jobber page mentions a language setting for clients.
QuickBooks Online: its own words, customer by customer
QuickBooks can send one customer an invoice in Spanish and the next one in English. Go to All apps > Customer Hub > Customers & leads, open the customer and choose Edit.
Under Payments, set “Language to use when you send invoices” to Spanish, then Save. The help page lists the feature on Simple Start as well as Essentials, Plus and Advanced, so no upgrade is needed.
It stops at the words QuickBooks wrote. “QuickBooks doesn’t translate custom text like the email body, products or services.” A service you typed as “Water heater replacement” stays in English on the Spanish invoice, and the email that carries it stays in whatever language you wrote it.

How many of your customers it touches
In Alachua County, 23,292 people aged 5 and over speak Spanish at home, out of 277,928 (US Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2024 1-year estimates, government data). That is 8.4 percent, about 1 in 12. The city of Gainesville comes out at 8.4 percent too.
Most of them speak English very well. The survey counts 4,656 who speak it less than “very well”: 1 in 5 Spanish speakers, or 1.7 percent of everyone, about 1 in 60.

The survey counts everyone who lives here, UF students included. Offer it, and let each customer pick the language.

Your own count tells you more than the census: how many callers asked for Spanish last month. On our sample sheet, with example numbers, the office noted 9. That row has no dollar figure.
What you can change today
- 1Step 1 of 4
When a customer gives you the OK to text at booking, ask which language they want, and note it on their profile.
- 2Step 2 of 4
In Jobber or Housecall Pro, pick one of two setups. Either write each job template in both languages and send it to everyone, or turn automatic messages off for the customers who asked for Spanish and send theirs yourself, in Spanish. In Housecall Pro, uncheck “Send notifications” on the customer’s profile. In Jobber, a booking confirmation goes only when you send it; for the automatic reminders, open the client and use More Actions > Edit to change their automated notifications. The second way needs a person to remember every job, and forgetting is a leak of its own.
- 3Step 3 of 4
In QuickBooks, set Spanish on each customer who asked, and write their email in Spanish yourself.
- 4Step 4 of 4
Leave review requests for last. They have their own rules, set out in our texting article.
Here is our Spanish wording for the three job texts, in the same formal Spanish as our missed-call text. Put your tool’s own fields where the brackets are. Each one carries facts about the booked job and nothing else, plus both stop lines.
[Negocio]: su cita es el [fecha], [hora]. Responda STOP (o ALTO) para no recibir mensajes. / Reply STOP to stop texts.
[Negocio]: [técnico] ya va en camino. Responda STOP (o ALTO) para no recibir mensajes. / Reply STOP to stop texts.
[Negocio]: su factura [número] está lista. Puede verla aquí: [enlace]. Responda STOP (o ALTO) para no recibir mensajes. / Reply STOP to stop texts.
In Jobber, drop “Puede verla aquí: [enlace]”. Jobber adds its own payment link.
If you choose one template for everyone, the confirmation in both languages reads:
[Business]: your visit is [date], [time]. / Su cita es el [fecha], [hora]. Reply STOP to stop texts. / Responda STOP (o ALTO) para no recibir mensajes.
Before your fields fill in, that one is already close to the 160 characters Jobber says fit in one text. Go over and the text still arrives, possibly in parts. Send one to your own phone first and read how the date and time print: neither tool’s help pages say whether they come out in Spanish.
- 160characters fit in one text, Jobber says. A longer text still arrives, possibly in parts.

What a walk checks
On a walk we look at how a job moves from the first call to the paid invoice and read what your tools send the customer along the way. Texts in one language are one of the things a walk looks for. If you want that count for your shop, call or text us for a free call.

Questions and answers
Does Housecall Pro send customer texts in Spanish?
Not by itself. Its help page says that with the app in Spanish, “your customer notifications will still be sent in English.” Once your texting number is set up, you can rewrite the scheduled, on my way and finished texts under Settings > Notifications > Customer, but one version goes to every customer. Its automatic review requests are “English only for now” unless you switch to one Custom message for everyone. As checked on September 25, 2026.
How do I put Jobber in Spanish?
On the web, select the avatar at the top right, then Language, then Español. It is a per-user setting. On the phone app, Spanish turns on by itself for non-admin users whose phone is set to Spanish; admins get the app in English. It changes what your team sees. The texts your clients get come from templates shared by every client.
Can QuickBooks Online send an invoice in Spanish?
Yes, customer by customer. Open the customer and choose Edit. Under Payments, set “Language to use when you send invoices” to Spanish. QuickBooks does not translate the email body or your product and service names, so write those in Spanish yourself.
How many people in Alachua County speak Spanish at home?
23,292 people aged 5 and over, give or take 2,649. That is 8.4 percent of the county. About 4,656 of them speak English less than “very well”, 1.7 percent of everyone (US Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2024 1-year estimates).
Does a Spanish text need a different opt-out?
Our rule is both stop lines on every text, in both languages: “Responda STOP (o ALTO) para no recibir mensajes. / Reply STOP to stop texts.” We treat a stop in any wording, English or Spanish, as an opt-out. Our texting article has the rest.
